The president of the International Olympic Committee, Jacques Rogge, has expressed his satisfaction with Beijing's preparation for the 2008 Olympic Games.
In an interview with the Kuwaiti News Agency, Rogge says Beijing's preparation work is going very well and he has seen such progress on a recent visit to Beijing.
He says preparation for the Olympic Games will have both positive psychological and material influences on Beijingers. It includes the construction and rebuilding of sports venues, improvement of the overall environment, and the construction of new airports, subways and roads, which will greatly improve transportation for local people.
He adds the staging of the Olympic Games will leave people a legacy of far-reaching influence.
