In a bid to ensure security at the Beijing Olympic Games, organizers yesterday asked those who have purchased tickets for the opening and closing ceremonies to register their personal information and photos.
The Beijing Olympic Organizing Committee will send registration forms to those with tickets. The forms are also available at the committee's official Website and at 1,000 designated branches of the Bank of China, Beijing Times reported today.
Ticket buyers are required to paste a picture of themselves after filling out the forms, the report said.
The forms must be delivered along with a copy of the person's ID card to a designated bank branch on or before January 31. Those sent by mail will be invalid, the report said.
Ticket buyers also need to show their ID card when delivering the forms to the bank, the report added.
Those delivering the forms on behalf of another need to sign a note attached to the registration form. They will also need to show their ID cards at the bank, the report said.
Organizers said they will adopt a real name system at both the opening and closing ceremonies to remove any chance of counterfeit tickets being sold, the report said.
