National Grand Theater bright and ready

On December 20, the National Grand Theater displayed its brilliant splendor with a trial light check. With the lighting facilities now finished the theater is expecting to begin celebrating its first performance season.

The international performance season runs from December 22, 2007 to April 6, 2008, during which 180 performances of 78 plays are scheduled, one-third of which being foreign plays. The upcoming shows include operas, dance dramas, concerts, modern dramas as well as Chinese operas. Authorities estimate that 300,000 people will enjoy the performances during the first show season.
