Three Chinese satellites launched separately in September 2000, October 2002 and November this year established a successful network connection Tuesday.
All three are remote sensing satellites, developed independently by China, China Radio International reported on Thursday.
Their main mission is to monitor soil conditions and land resources, aid city planning, forecast agricultural harvests, natural disasters and conduct space experiments.
After being connected, their operating efficiency will increase, while their coverage area will also expand.
