Two Chinese science films, Wheel and Circle and The Lost Great Bridge, have won the Science for Youth Gold Award and the Special Jury Prize respectively at the 2002 Beijing International Science Film Festival.
Jury chairman Heinze G. Pianka announced the judges' decisions in Beijing Wednesday evening.
Altogether 27 film and TV programs won awards in different categories at the festival.
Alien Underworld, made by Australia's ABC, won the Grand Prix, while The Lost Great Bridge made by Beijing Science and Educational Film Studio shared the Special Jury Prize with About Mathematics Universe made by Spain's Television Espanola. Wheel and Circle was made by China Educational TV Station.
