China says it is willing to cultivate more space technology and application talents for the Asia and Pacific region.
Speaking at an informal meeting on UN space cooperation, a Chinese delegate said the country is preparing to set up an education and training center for space technology for the Asia and Pacific region.
China successfully launched its first-ever manned spacecraft last October, becoming the third country to send a human into space.
He says China also hopes to establish a similar center for the United Nations in the Chinese capital of Beijing.
To date, a total of 80 people from 30 countries in the region have received training in China.
