China's first standard to accurately judge brain death has been approved by the Ministry of Health.

The standard, formulated by Tongji Hospital affiliated to Huazhong University of Science & Technology, is China's first operative standard for hospitals.

Tongji Hospital announced a death in April last year with brain death standard, the first ever on the Chinese mainland.
