Southwestern China's Sichuan province is encouraging tourists to use various bank cards to pay bills or buy things while travelling in Sichuan.
In the provincial government's plan, key tourist sites in Sichuan will be able to accept payment by bank cards by 2008. Tourists will be able to use their bank cards while lodge in hotels and buying entrance tickets, food and souvenirs at tourist sites.
Besides key tourist sites, major commercial areas and star-rated hotels are also among those who will be able to accept payment by bank cards.
Tourists do not need to worry about carrying large sums of cash while traveling in Sichuan in the near future.
