Cold Air to Bring Low Temperature and Frost to S. China
Adjust font size:

A strong cold air continuing to move southeast will bring low temperatures and frost to south China over the next three days, China's Central Meteorological Station (CMS) forecast on Sunday.

The cold air will bring temperatures down by three to six degrees Celsius in south China. Parts of Fujian will expect the lowest temperature of minus three degrees Celsius, while temperatures in parts of Guangdong and Guangxi are set to reach zero and minus two degrees Celsius.

The CMS urged farmers in these areas to take measures to protect their orchards, rubber plantations, vegetable farms and aquafarms from the chilly weather.

Most parts of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau will also experience a four-to-eight-degree drop in temperature. In the south part of Qinghai Province, temperatures may drop by more than 10 degrees Celsius.

Light fog is expected to cloak most areas of Yangtze-Huaihe valleys, northern part of south China and parts of Guizhou, Chongqing, Sichuan and Yunnan on Monday morning.
