Canadian Airliner Departs Narita After Confirming Safety
Adjust font size:

The Air Canada passenger plane, which returned to Narita International Airport, east of Tokyo, on Tuesday afternoon shortly after takeoff due to door glitch alert, departed again at around 7:50 PM local time after confirming safety.

The Airbus A340, bound for Toronto, left Narita at about 5:20 PM, but returned and landed safely at about 6 PM because the aircrew were alerted by the instrument panel that a door was open while in flight, according to airport officials.

The alert was falsely reported due to instrument glitch and there has been no report of injuries in the incident, Kyodo News said.
