The world's largest passenger plane, upon completion of its first flight to the United States, landed at New York's Kennedy International Airport (JFK) on Monday.
The four-engine Airbus A380 superjumbo jet arrived here at about 12:10 PM local time (1710 GMT) after a nearly eight-hour across-Atlantic voyage from Frankfurt, Germany.
Prior to the test flight, JFK has undergone major improvements to make sure that it can safely accommodate the giant aircraft, which boasts a wingspan of 261 feet, weighs 562 tons and carries up to 555 passengers.
