Nepal won the New Travel Routes Contest 2007 award at International Travel Exhibition held on June 14-17 in China's Hong Kong, according to the Nepal Tourism Board.
According to a press release issued by the board Sunday, the contest was conducted through the visitors' survey of the trade, media and consumers that attended the exhibition.
"The award is a testament to the new confidence in the destination which is also reflected in the tourist arrival numbers in 2007," the release said.
Nepal's participated in the exhibition is to promote Nepal in the Chinese market, it said.
Along with Nepal Tourism Board, three private sector companies: Asian Trekking, Amadablam Adventure and Dharma Adventure participated in the exhibition.
