Four passengers were injured on Friday when a China Southern Airlines aircraft traveling from Sydney to Guangzhou, capital of south China's Guangdong Province, was pummeled by strong turbulence.
At around 4 PM, when the plane was flying over the Philippinesat an altitude of 10,000 meters, it encountered serious turbulence, according to a statement by the airline.
Four passengers were not wearing their seatbelts and suffered minor head injuries and bruising. Twenty other passengers vomited.
The injured were taken to hospital for check-ups after the flight arrived at Guangzhou's Baiyun Airport at 5:52 PM.
