The Heavenly Pond waterfall is situated near the outlet of the Heavenly Pond atop Baitou Mountain on the China-Korea border southeast of Jilin. The lake rises 2,194 meters above sea level and was formerly a volcanic orifice. The waterfall is formed as the lakewater breaks loose from the 5-meter-wide outlet in the north and rushes down a desecent of 250 meters into the Erdaobai River, the headstream of the Second Songhua River. The snowcapped Baitou Mountain blended with its lake and waterfall makes the place famous for its natural beauty.
