China's Other Capital
A store specializing in selling pottery and porcelain made in Jingdezhen, the home of China's porcelain, aims to promote the art of china.

Chinaware in the store is made by masters of Jingdezhen. The town has a 2,000-year history of porcelain making.

The company with the brand name Hanwenge has all sorts of chinaware from Chinese traditional style porcelain such as qinghuaci - blue pattern porcelain - and glazed porcelain to wucaici - colorful porcelain - in a modern style.

The goods available include artwork for collection, decoration and as souvenirs. Prices range from several hundred thousand yuan for collectible artwork to a dozen yuan for a small souvenir.

The subject matters of traditional porcelain in the store include mountain and water, legendary figures, flowers and birds.

But there's also porcelain for practical use, such as tableware.

Chinaware for indoor decoration includes porcelain statues and porcelain plates made like framed oil paintings.

People can also order tailor-made artwork here which can bear a certain symbol or a picture of somebody.
