China and Jordan signed an agreement here Monday to permit Chinese tourist groups to visit Jordan.
Jordan is the 27th country to gain approved destination status for Chinese citizens.
After signing the agreement, the two sides will discuss details such as visas before Chinese groups can travel there.
The agreement was signed by He Guangwei, director of China National Tourism Administration (CNTA), and Samer Tawil, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of Jordan.
Jordan hosted about 8,000 Chinese visitors last year, Tawil said
