Preparations are being made across China to ready the country for its upcoming weeklong May Day holiday. 

Security checks are being carried out around the country, and will be completed before April 20th.

They aim to prevent disruptive activities and accidents during the golden week.

Governments at all levels are being urged to promote the tourism market and deal with illegal tourist operators.
