Booking services had been improved at railway stations in Shenzhen and Guangzhou, allowing travelers to book train tickets 10 days in advance from June 4, the Daily Sunshine reported Wednesday.
In the past, stations only accepted ticket bookings six days in advance, the report said.
The stations also dedicated service windows for students starting June 1 through the summer holidays to Sept. 30. The report said students with valid ID cards would be eligible for 50 percent discount at the No. 15 service window at Shenzhen Railway Station or the No. 7 window at Guangzhou Railway Station.
However, people studying at training schools would be ineligible for discounts, the report said.
Dedicated service windows would also be made available in the next couple of weeks for people booking tickets for cushioned sleeping berths at the No. 1 and No. 17 windows in Shenzhen and the No. 8 window in Guangzhou.
