Beijing will support 32 education programs under the Belt and Road Initiative with the B&R Scholarships for 2018.
A total of 93 projects applied for the funding, with 32 programs eventually winning the scholarships. They will be subsidized for terms between one to six years and receive a grant of 250,000 yuan (US$37,702) each year.
The special scholarships, funded by the Beijing municipal government, are established to support overseas students from the Belt and Road countries for their full-time undergraduate and postgraduate education in Beijing.
Among them, doctoral students, master students and undergraduates can receive 40,000 yuan, 30,000 yuan and 20,000 yuan respectively per person each academic year.
