Beijing unveiled its first smart community service platform on Oct. 25, bringing convenience to the community residents, property management and government administrators through a smartphone application.
Using the smartphone app, residents can open community gates by scanning a dynamic QR code, schedule maintenance services electronically, and pay management fees on their phones. The residents can also provide their guests with a temporary QR code to enter the community at a designated time.
What’s more, the LED screen near the entrance of the community is connected with the screens in the elevators and the residents’ smartphone app, providing real-time traffic updates, public security announcements, and notices from property management and the local government.
For property management, the app allows easier monitoring of various community services and equipment. Maintenance personnel can quickly identify equipment needing repairs by scanning the QR code on it and complete maintenance tasks following the steps provided through the app. Furthermore, they can send and receive maintenance bills electronically using an app called E Fix.
In addition, government administrators can remotely monitor security, demographic data and business practices at the community.
