Biggest floods, in 20 years, hit Chengdu

The county of Jintang in Chengdu City was affected by the worst floods in two decades, on July 9. The peak discharge had reached 7,390 cubic meters per second at 3:30 p.m., on Monday, exceeding the alarming level by 3.25 meters. Over 23,900 residents have been displaced and no casualties have been reported yet, according to local authorities. [Photo/Xinhua]
