At least three people have died of heatstroke in Japan due to sweltering weather in the past few days, according to local media.
Temperatures reached 30 degrees Celsius at over 400 places, with a high of 36.3 degree Celsius recorded in the city of Tatebayashi in Gunma Prefecture and in the town of Ibigawa in Gifu Prefecture, according the Japan Meteorological Agency.
Twenty-five locations across the country including Kyoto saw temperatures soar over 35 Celsius degree, it said.
