NASA's Earth Observatory released two images of Typhoon Nangka yesterday. The storm's highest maximum-sustained winds were measured on July 9, reaching 250 kilometers per hour, it said. According to news reports, winds of 130 kilometers per hour and more than foot of rainfall could affect the Kochi and Tokushima prefectures after landfall, expected to occur overnight on July 16.
