At the invitation of the Standing Committee of the National
People's Congress, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special
Administrative Region Tung Chee Hwa will attend the closing
ceremony of the first session of the 10th National People's
Congress (NPC) in Beijing on March 18.
"Mr. Tung will depart for Beijing on March 17 and return to Hong
Kong on March 19," said a Hong Kong government spokesman on
Saturday.
Accompanying Tung on the visit will be Director of the Chief
Executive's Office W K Lam, Private Secretary to the Chief
Executive Robin Ip, and Special Assistant to the Chief Executive
Chan Kin-ping.
While Tung is away from Hong Kong, Chief Secretary for
Administration Donald Tsang will be the Acting Chief Executive, the
spokesman said.
