Secretary of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and concurrently Chairman of the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Congress.
Zhao Hongzhu, ethnic Han, was born in July 1947. A native of Ningcheng in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, with a university education, Zhao began his career in October 1965 and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in August 1969.
He started his political career as a People's Liberation Army officer and then worked at various local party posts in Inner Mongolia. He was later appointed Director of the General Office for the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, CPC Central Committee
Sep. 1997: Appointed Standing Committee Member and Vice Secretary-General of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection
Mar. 1998: Appointed Vice Minister of Supervision.
Jun. 2000: Appointed Vice Minister of the Organization Department, CPC Central Committee.
Mar. 2007: Appointed Secretary of the CPC Zhejiang Provincial Committee.
Jan. 2008: Also elected Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Zhejiang Provincial People’s Congress.
Zhao is also a member of the 17th CPC Central Committee. |
