FAO Official Praises China's Contribution in Tsunami Relief

An official at the Food and Agriculture Organization has expressed admiration for China's active role in providing relief to tsunami-ravaged countries.

At an international symposium on Post-Tsunami Economic Evaluation and Global Cooperation underway in Beijing, Noureddin Mona praised China's quick response to the disaster by providing relief materials and sending money and medical teams.

The official also applauded China's promises to get involved in the post-tsunami reconstruction efforts.

The symposium is co-sponsored by the Boao Asian Forum and the Red Cross Society of China.
