Japanese auto manufacturer Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. (NMCL) will
donate 1.5 million yuan to China in support of its anti-SARS fight,
officials from its Beijing office announced Friday.
One million yuan of the donation (about 120,000 US dollars) will be
presented to the Chinese Ministry of Health, and the remaining
500,000 yuan (about 60,000 US dollars) will be presentedto the
Beijing municipal government.
In
mid-May, the joint venture of NMCL and China International Trust
and Investment Group in Zhengzhou, the capital of central China's
Henan Province, donated five vehicles valued at approximately 1.3
million yuan to the Zhengzhou municipal government and the Henan
provincial government to support the province's battle against the
epidemic.
