The nationwide campaign to maintain the progressive nature of
Communist Party of China (CPC) members has achieved its goals, said
senior officials at a seminar Wednesday.
The campaign launched in January 2005 had been successful in
strengthening the advanced nature of the Party, said Zeng Qinghong, a member of the Standing
Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
With the firm leadership of the Central Committee, Party
organizations at all levels had achieved the goals of improving the
integrity of members, strengthening grassroots organizations,
serving the people and promoting work, said Zeng.
The strategy of enhancing the Party's progressive nature was the
guidance and firm assurance in building Socialism with Chinese
characteristics, he told the seminar held on Tuesday and Wednesday
in Beijing.
The seminar focused on the theoretical study of building the
progressive nature of the Party for future Party construction.
Zeng's remarks gave a full picture of the current and future
building of the progressive nature, which should be firmly grasped
and implemented, said Wu Guanzheng, also a member of the Standing
Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee.
Party organizations at all levels should summarize the
campaign's achievements, continue theoretical studies and deepen
the understanding of the building of progressive nature, said He
Guoqiang, head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central
Committee, at the closing session.
