Chinese mainland announced on Monday the first results of the
anti-dumping investigation of Nonyl Phenol, and decided to adopt
temporary anti-dumping measures against the product.
From July 10, 2006, importers of Nonyl Phenol originating from
India and Taiwan should pay a deposit to Chinese mainland customs
on the basis of their degree of dumping, ranging from 9.07 to 20.38
percent, the Ministry of Commerce said on Monday.
The ministry started the anti-dumping investigation on December
29, 2005. The first verdict showed that the Chinese mainland's
Nonyl Phenol industry was hurt by the dumping of Nonyl Phenol from
India and Taiwan.
Nonyl phenol is a kind of chemical used in textiles, lubricating
oil, rubber and pesticide.
