Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone is building two open street parks for leisure and sightseeing at two intersections, which are expected to open at the end of May.
The park at the intersection of Haitang Road and Jixian Road has a planned area of 2,800 square meters and will create an evergreen ecological environment with blooming flowers during all four seasons.
The park will feature begonias and plum blossoms, along with the sweet osmanthus, camphor bush and other trees and shrubs. There will also be rest areas with chairs and fitness facilities, making the park an ideal place for surrounding residents to relax, exercise and enjoy the scenery.
The other park at the intersection of Xiyou Road and Innovation Institute Branch Road Somei Yoshino will cover 12,000 sq m. It was originally a spot for voluntary tree planting and 400 cherry trees have been planted there.
After renovation, the place will become a cherry blossoms-themed park and continue to be the spot for voluntary tree planting. It will feature well-arranged Yoshino cherry trees of different types. Trees and shrubs such as camphor, hackberry and red maple will also be planted to enrich the landscape.
