The Hefei High-tech No.1 satellite, one of four satellites deployed, is now orbiting 850 kilometers above the Earth.
It is expected to have a service life of at least five years, potentially extending up to seven or eight years.
Lyv Qiang, chairman of Beijing Guodian Hi-Tech Technology Co Ltd – which developed the satellite – said that this particular satellite would better serve Hefei city and Anhui province in comparison to other satellites.
Lyu added that the rapid development of Hefei and Anhui's digital economy had created numerous applications scenarios, with the company actively collaborating to produce effective results.
The goal is to have three to five applications scenarios implemented by the end of this year.
Beijing Guodian Gaoke Technology Co is the only commercial aerospace company in China with a low-orbit satellite UHF communications frequency license and a value-added telecoms operations license.
