The Anhui University Green Industry Innovation Base – in the Hefei High-tech Industrial Development Zone, in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province – advanced to a new stage of construction, with its roof capping ceremony held on Jan 9.

The base, which is a joint project of Anhui University and the Hefei local government and the Hefei high-tech zone, has a total floor space of 41,000 square meters and involves a total investment of 350 million yuan ($48 million).

The facility will provide a platform for Anhui University's Green Industry Innovation Research Institute to conduct research and development. It's expected to be completed in December this year.

On completion, it will be based on the core concept of "industry-education integration and green development." This will help build a green industry innovation ecosystem that integrates technology innovation, talent cultivation and technology transfers and transformation.

Moreover, the complex will promote the progress of regional industries and economic sustainable development and become a new engine for regional innovation development.
