October 1990 – The foundation of Hefei Science and Technology Industrial Park was laid.
March 1991 – Hefei Science and Technology Industrial Park was approved as one of the first batch of national high-tech industrial development zones by the State Council.
July 1992 – The State Scientific and Technological Commission (currently the Ministry of Science and Technology) agreed to change the name of "Hefei Science and Technology Industrial Park" to "Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone".
September 1997 – It was approved as the first "China Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Technology Industrial Park" by the State Council.
June 1999 – It was approved as a national pilot high-tech zone for technology innovation projects by the Ministry of Science and Technology.
March 2000 – It was recognized as one of the first national high-tech services and products export bases by the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (currently the Ministry of Commerce).
September 2003 – It won the title of "National Advanced High-tech Industry Development Zone" at the 15th anniversary of the implementation of the National Torch Plan.
October 2005 – Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone and Feixi county signed an agreement to jointly develop Boyan Science and Technology Park.
August 2007 – Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone and Shushan district signed an agreement to jointly develop Nangang Science and Technology Park.
November 2007 – It was approved as a "National Animation Industry Development Base" by the State Administration of Press and Publication (currently the National Radio and Television Administration).
December 2008 – It was approved as a "National Intellectual Property Pilot Park" by the National Intellectual Property Administration.
