Hefei high-tech zone looks to become world-class park

The "2024 Research Report on the High-Quality Development of China's Industrial Parks" was released on Aug. 14 by CCID Consulting, a leading Chinese consulting firm. According to the report, the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone ranked 12th on the list of "Top 100 High-Quality Development Parks," stood at 13th on the list of "Top 100 Advanced Manufacturing Parks," and placed 37th on the "Top 100 Bio-Pharmaceutical Industrial Parks" list.

In recent years, the Hefei high-tech zone has made great efforts to promote the integration between sci-tech innovation and industrial innovation, constantly fostered new quality productive forces, and comprehensively advanced economic and social growth, in a bid to become a world-class high-tech industrial park.
In the first half of this year, the zone's revenue of service enterprises above the designated size, retail sales of consumer goods, and revenue in the general public budget increased by 14.9%, 11.7%, and 10.5%, respectively.

In terms of innovation-driven development, the zone has supported the USTC Silicon Valley Innovation Park and initiated the "gold rush" plan for local universities and institutions. So far, the zone is home to 60 enterprises focusing on transforming sci-tech results, 14 high-quality global partnership projects, and three new-type research and development organizations.
It offered a "1+3+N" industrial policy package and issued 20 regulations related to scientific innovation and financial services. In the first half of this year, 600 million yuan ($84.13 million) was allocated for 1,800 companies and 1,220 high-end professionals. The number of valid invention patents from companies in the zone exceeded 20,000, accounting for 26.8% of the total number in Hefei.
In the first half of the year, 127 projects were signed in the zone, with an investment of about 59.2 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year increase of 13.7%. Among them, there are three projects of more than 5 billion yuan and 12 projects of more than 1 billion yuan, both ranking first in the city.
The zone also carried out a three-year action plan for fostering future-oriented industries, and completed a construction scheme for a future industrial pilot zone. In the first six months of the year, 9,093 market entities were registered in the zone, bringing the total number to 106,000, up 14.22% year on year. Among them, 83,000 were newly registered enterprises, increasing 14.32% year on year.
