In recent years, the zone has made great efforts to promote the construction around Baiyan Lake, revolving around the "Happy River and Lake" Initiative and relying on support from international schools, hospitals, foreign companies, high-end businesses, and the University of Science and Technology of China.
Efforts included building an ecological wetland park, an international community, as well as a demonstration area for the integration of industry and city.

Since the beginning of this year, the zone has organized a number of thematic events to push forward lake construction and better serve local people. For example, a publicity activity was held to encourage local residents to join the protection of the lake.

The zone also mobilized young volunteers and women's groups to hold green and low-carbon activities and to promote ecological civilization to local residents.
In addition, the zone organized photography and science popularization salons on the theme of "Happy River and Lake," offering the public an opportunity to learn about the systematic management of the natural environment and ecological governance.
