The Hefei Institute for Quantum Computing and Data Medicine was established Sunday, marking the launch of China's first research institute focused on quantum computing and its applications in medical data.
The institute, a collaboration between Bengbu Medical University and Origin Quantum, aims to enhance China's medical data security and applications through the use of quantum computing. The institute will conduct research on verification of quantum medical algorithms, foster cooperation between quantum computing and medical research, and chart the development of quantum computing capabilities for digital healthcare. It also plans to advance both quantum medical research and the commercialization of its findings.
Bengbu Medical University, a leading medical institution in Anhui province, is equipped with extensive medical data resources and a strong research team. Origin Quantum, China's first quantum computing company, has delivered several superconducting quantum computers. Its quantum computer, Origin Wukong, has completed 298,000 quantum computing tasks for users in 137 countries and regions globally since its launch.
