USTC Silicon Valley offers two-week stay to attract talent

University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) Silicon Valley recently launched a program to offer up to 15 days of free accommodation and office space to entrepreneurs and high-level professionals, so as to attract more startups and talent to Hefei city, Anhui province.
The program, named "Kepiao Stations," aims to help the new arrivals to transition toward long-term residence and employment. They are also given policy consultation, field trips, and other services aimed at facilitating their success.

Currently, five stations have been put into operation — China Speech Valley Station, Hefei Innovation Institution Station, USTC Institute of Advanced Technology Station, Liji Building Station, and Zhong'an Chuanggu Station. Four of them are located at the Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone.

The stations each has its unique features. Hefei Innovation Institution Station offers shared offices, conference areas, and amenities. USTC Institute of Advanced Technology Station provides incubation services, including entrepreneurship counseling and sci-tech finance.
Zhong'an Chuanggu Station has set up pilot platforms, proof-of-concept funds, and research and development platforms, and introduced various financial services. Liji Building Station provides space for work and exchange activities.
In the future, USTC Silicon Valley plans to build more stations to improve project docking, special policy service, as well as fund investment. The stations are expected to be a magnet for sci-tech professionals and a hub of innovation, and bolster the city's sci-tech advances.
