Origin Wukong, China's third-generation independently developed superconducting quantum computer, has surpassed 20 million global accesses since its launch in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, setting a new record for the scale of domestic quantum computing services.
Data shows that Origin Wukong has reached users in 139 countries and regions worldwide. Among overseas users, the U.S., Russia, Japan, and Canada have shown the highest levels of activity, with the U.S. consistently ranking first in terms of access volume.
Developed by the Origin Quantum team, Origin Wukong is equipped with the 72-bit self-developed superconducting quantum chip. It has met advanced international standards in key metrics such as the number of quantum bits and coherence time, marking a significant milestone in China's fully independent and controllable quantum computing technology, both in terms of hardware and software. It is currently the most advanced programmable and deliverable superconducting quantum computer in China.
Since its launch on Jan. 6, 2024, Origin Wukong has completed over 339,000 quantum computing tasks for users across various industries, including fluid dynamics, finance, and biomedicine. A research team composed of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center, and the University of Science and Technology of China has successfully conducted the world's largest quantum computing fluid dynamics simulation using Origin Wukong. Additionally, the quantum computing power of Origin Wukong has secured a commercial procurement order from a renowned enterprise in a permanent member country of the United Nations Security Council, marking the first export of China's independently developed quantum computing capabilities.
Currently, over 80% of quantum technology enterprises in Anhui are located in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, which has become a leading hub for quantum technology in China. This strong foundation supports Hefei's efforts toward becoming a national center for quantum technology and industry.
To date, the zone has become home to over 60 quantum industry chain enterprises, including nearly 30 core quantum companies. The total revenue of the quantum industry chain is estimated to reach nearly 4 billion yuan ($549.6 million) in 2024.
