In recent years, Hefei city of Anhui province has made great efforts to support quantum technology development. At present, the city is home to over 70 enterprises in the quantum industrial chain, ranking first in the country.
In 2004, Hefei was approved as China's first National Science and Technology Innovation Pilot City. In 2017, the Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center was officially unveiled as the country's second comprehensive national science center, and the National Laboratory for Quantum Sciences was established in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone.
In 2020, QuantumCTek, a leading company in commercialized quantum information technology, went public on Shanghai's technology-focused STAR Market, becoming the first quantum information technology company in the country to list on the stock exchange.
In 2023, Hefei sped up the construction of a national-level Quantum Information Future Industry Science and Technology Park, and carried out a 10-year (2020-2030) plan to foster industrial development of quantum information.
Looking forward, the city will continuously guide leading enterprises to accelerate innovation and industrialization of key and core technologies, and gather various forces to build itself a quantum technology center.
