The Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone is calling on global top designers to design new city landmark.
The planned Hefei High-Tech Zone Cultural Service Center covers 110,000 square meters of floor, sitting in an area of approximately 60 mu (4 hectares). The architectural project is poised to become a cultural icon in Hefei.

The site is located in the core area of the zone's Grand Union of Innovation, and offers rare vistas of Dashushan Forest Park in the distance and Shuxi Lake nearby.
The design of the landmark building will be produced through an open competition, and both domestic and international design and operational institutions are welcome to apply.
Overseas applicants (from regions outside Chinese mainland, including Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan) must form a consortium with Chinese mainland partners, with no more than three members total. The consortium must be led by a Chinese mainland entity and submit a legally binding Consortium Agreement.
Applicants must download the Application Statement, Confidentiality Commitment, and Consortium Agreement from the competition announcement, complete and sign the documents, then scan and email them to hfgxggsw@163.com. Email subjects must follow the format: Hefei High-Tech Zone Cultural Service Center Conceptual Design and Operation Proposal Competition + [Organization Name]. After submission, applicants must confirm receipt by phone (+86-0551-65711062, +86-18005516172).
Design proposals must comply with national, provincial, and municipal regulations and standards. Final submissions — due by midnight on April 28, 2025 (Beijing time) — must be sent as compressed files (.zip/.rar) labeled "Hefei High-Tech Zone Cultural Service Center Conceptual Design and Operation Proposal + [Company Name]." Proposals must include a PDF document and a presentation file (PPT or 3D animation) to showcase design highlights.
The competition awards one First Place Prize of 300,000 yuan ($40,890), one Second Place Prize of 200,000 yuan, and one Third Place Prize of 100,000 yuan, all payable in Renminbi.
We are looking forward to cooperating with global top designers to shape Hefei's new skyline!
