A 25-year-old Texas man, Dallas Wiens, has received the first full face transplant done in the United States at Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital.

More than 30 physicians, nurses, anesthesiologists and residents worked for more than 15 hours to replace Wiens' nose, lips, facial skin, and facial animation muscles and nerves.

He is expected to regain most of the sensation in his forehead and cheek on the right side, but less so on the left part of the cheek and forehead where damage was more severe, surgeons said. The surgical team was not able to restore his vision.

美完成首例全脸移植手术

       据路透社报道，来自美国得克萨斯州的２５岁男子达拉斯•维恩斯近日在波士顿布林翰女子医院接受了全脸移植手术，而这也是美国完成的首例全脸移植手术。

       有30多位医生、护士、麻醉专家和住院医生为他进行了15小时的手术，给他移植了鼻子、嘴唇、面部皮肤、面部肌肉和神经。

       医生预期维恩斯的右侧前额和面颊的感知神经大部分可以恢复，但是左侧的面部和前额伤势过于严重，恐难恢复。这次手术也没有使他恢复视力。

       达拉斯•维恩斯因在2008年发生高压电线事故，脸部严重毁容。
