Monaco's Royal Palace on Wednesday denied a published report that Prince Albert's bride-to-be, Charlene Wittstock, discovered information about the prince and tried to flee to her native South Africa but was stopped by police, CNN reported.

The French news magazine L'Express reported Tuesday that a "shaken" Wittstock made a hasty departure to Nice Airport where she intended to board a one-way flight to South Africa, having discovered several hours before that the private life of her fiancée was "not as exemplary as she imagined."

L'Express also reported that Wittstock, a former Olympic swimmer, was stopped by airport officials and that it took intense persuasion from Albert and his entourage to get her to stay and agree to go through with the marriage. （点击CNN网站查看原文）

摩王室否认准王妃逃婚

       据美国有线电视新闻网报道，摩纳哥王室周三发表声明，否认日前传闻摩纳哥准王妃沙琳·维特施托克因发现摩纳哥亲王阿尔贝二世私人生活细节后试图逃回祖国南非，却在机场被警方拦截。

       法国《快讯》周刊周二报道称，已经动摇的前南非泳将维特施托克匆忙出现在法国尼斯机场，看起来像是打算买张单程机票，搭机返回南非。她应该是在几个小时前发现未来丈夫摩纳哥亲王阿尔贝私生活混乱，并不是想象中那么一个模范丈夫。

       报道还指出，她被机场工作人员拦下后，阿尔贝派来的调解者竭力说服她留下并同意结婚。
