Experts say a Juneyao Airline captain whose pilot's license was revoked after he ignored orders to delay a landing may have wanted to save fuel and ensure an on-time arrival, China Economic Weekly reported. 据《中国经济周刊》报道,据专家分析,“避让门”事件中被吊销飞行执照的吉祥航空机长拒绝执行空管命令、延迟降落,是为了节省燃油和确保正点。
Fuel efficiency and punctuality are becoming two important criteria in determining pilots' income, according to a civil aviation insider. Giving up landing priority would consume more fuel and possibly cause a late arrival. 民航业内人士透露,燃油效率和正点率均与飞行员的收入密切相关。放弃降落次序、重新排队将耗费更多燃油,也很可能造成晚点。
On Aug. 13, the Juneyao Airline captain refused to take the orders from the tower to make way for a Qatar Airways jet that broadcasted a distress signal "Mayday". 8月13日,卡塔尔航空一架班机播报出遇险信号“Mayday”,但该吉祥航空机长拒绝接受塔台指令、为前者腾出空位。
