A prolific serial stealer of rare wild birds' eggs has been handed a fourth jail sentence, the Guardian reported.

Matthew Gonshaw, 49, from Bow, east London, was described by prosecutors as one of the UK's most active and persistent egg thieves, whose targeting of osprey and golden eagle nests was "unprecedented".

Almost 700 wild bird eggs were found at Gonshaw's home, and some of the golden eagle eggs were stolen just before the birds hatched, meaning that Gonshaw removed almost full-term chicks.

英偷蛋狂人藏700枚鸟蛋

       据英国《卫报》报道，日前，一个连环作案、专偷珍稀野生鸟蛋的大盗第4次被捕并获刑。

       49岁的马修•刚肖来自伦敦东部的Bow地区，检察官称，他是英国最活跃、最有持久力的偷蛋大盗，他将偷窃目标锁定在鱼鹰、金雕的巢内，这是前所未闻的。

       他在家中藏有近700枚野生鸟蛋。一些被偷的金雕蛋内有即将孵化出的雏鸟。

       刚肖承认，自己的行为触犯了《野生动物和乡村法》的10项条例，他被判6个月监禁。
