Local People's Courts at All Levels

The local people's courts at all levels include higher people's courts, intermediate people's courts, and primary-level people's courts. 

The higher people's courts are those at the provincial level, set up by each of the provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities directly under the central government. The intermediate people's courts include those at the prefecture level set up in the cities under the jurisdiction of various provinces and autonomous regions, in the municipalities directly under the central government, and in autonomous prefectures, and those set up for special regions in provinces and autonomous regions. The primary-level people's courts refer to those at the county level, set up in the counties, autonomous counties, cities not divided into districts, and municipal districts.

Local people's courts are responsible to and report on their work to the people's congresses at the corresponding levels and their standing committees, and they are also under the supervision of the latter.

地方各级人民法院

地方各级人民法院分为高级人民法院、中级人民法院和基层人民法院。高级人民法院包括省高级人民法院、自治区高级人民法院、直辖市高级人民法院。中级人民法院包括省、自治区辖市的中级人民法院,在直辖市内设立的中级人民法院,自治州中级人民法院,在省、自治区内按地区设立的中级人民法院。基层人民法院包括县、自治县人民法院,不设区的市人民法院,市辖区人民法院。

地方各级人民法院对本级人民代表大会及其常务委员会负责并报告工作。各级人民代表大会及其常务委员会对本级人民法院的工作实施监督。
