On April 19-21, President Xi Jinping, also General Secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, gave an inspection tour of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Xi had visited ports, enterprises, key programs, innovation model bases and cultural institutions, and learned about grassroots cadres and peoples' recommendations and expectations for the 19th CPC National Congress.

Xi called for detailed requirements to promote the supply-side structural reform, build a comprehensive open new development layout, build a modern agricultural system, protect the ecological environment, implement precise poverty alleviation and poverty elimination, and build a good leadership team.

The trip is of great significance to promote sustained and healthy economic and social development with solid steps, and to greet the 19th CPC National Congress with outstanding achievements.

Xi stressed efforts are needed in promoting industrial optimization and upgrading, transforming the development patterns, improving innovation capability, and deepening reforms and opening up, in order to release potentials as deep as the sea, and to stimulate vitality as wide as rivers, and to fully utilize the advantages of bordering provinces, so as to fully implement China's opening-up driven strategy.

Xi's remarks not only serve as a schedule map for bringing fortunes for people in Guangxi and rejuvenating the autonomous region, but also offer new guidelines and set up new models of ushering reforms and developments into new phases for the party and entire nation as well.
