Recently, the United States hyped up a Chinese civilian balloon into a "spy balloon," and had a U.S. F-22 fighter jet shoot it down with a AIM-9X missile worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. Despite China's repeated responses that the entry of the Chinese civilian unmanned airship into the U.S. airspace is an entirely unintended, unexpected and isolated event caused by force majeure, the U.S. turned a blind eye and continued to hype up the "China threat." Their almost hysterical practice showed that the U.S. side's prejudice and ignorance of China has reached an absurd level.
Some experts have pointed out that the U.S. government's actions are aimed at providing so-called political excuses and reasons for sanctions against China. The "balloon incident" has become a tool for U.S. politicians to gain public support for their aggressive foreign policies. On Feb. 17, Wang Yi, director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the CPC Central Committee, said China demands that the U.S. show sincerity in resolving the problem and stop doing such absurd things out of domestic political needs.
