7 killed in Tibet as India quake affects China

Local residents took items out of their damaged house in the quake-affected Yadong County, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, Sept. 19, 2011. At least seven people died and 24 others were injured in the county after a strong earthquake occurred in the state of Sikkim in northern India on Sunday evening. The earthquake destroyed 2,961 houses and affected 13,793 people in the county, which borders India's Sikkim, the epicenter of the 6.9-magnitude quake. [Xinhua/Gesang Dawa]
