Top three winners to serve as Chengdu Pambassador

Contestant Cheung Aimee from Britain learns to insert bamboo, the main food of giant panda, at the Research Base for Giant Panda Breeding in Chengdu, capital of southwest China's Sichuan Province, Nov. 6, 2012. French contestant Jerome Serge Pouille, Chinese contestant Chen Yinrong and American contestant Melissa Rose Katz, the top three winners from the final of "global search for Chengdu Pambassador 2012", will serve as the Chengdu Pambassador for a year. They will train at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding before travelling around the world to all the countries and regions that have giant pandas. The global initiative is aimed to raise the awareness about the protection of the giant panda, a high endangered species, and their habitats. [Xinhua]
