Zhang Lili, a middle school teacher in Jiamusi, Heilongjiang Province, becomes a member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) on July, 1, 2012. She sustained serious injuries after saving two students from being hit by an oncoming bus on May 8. Her legs were crushed and later had to be amputated above the knee. Zhang's act of heroism has moved numerous people. She was named "the most beautiful teacher" by netizens.
